Notch

Notch is a side table made from reclaimed travertine, the offcuts left over from other pieces on the workshop floor. We started from the reuse, not the shape, and built the form around what the leftover blocks would give us. The curved top sits over a notched upright, and we glue the parts together by hand so the stone reads as one continuous piece, sized for the space beside a bed or a sofa.

We cut each part from reclaimed blocks, join them by collage and finish the piece in a honed matte. Because the stone comes from offcuts, the colour and veining of every Notch follow the block it came from, so no two land the same way.

Notch Long is a long solid-marble coffee table from the 2025 Notch collection, where the legs slot up into cut-outs carved under the top and lock into place without screws or brackets. We machine those cut-outs from our own programming so the stone fits into stone with no metal in the joint, then finish every face by hand to a soft satin matte, which is where the hours go. We run a curved edge along the underside so a long block reads lighter than its weight.

We leave out the screws and brackets and let stone meet stone, then run a curved edge along the underside so a heavy block reads lighter than it is. We worked it out in house as we built it.
