Egge

A heavy slab that learned to stand on three thin legs.
Egge is a long marble coffee table carried on three slim lacquered-metal legs, the top kept thin so a heavy material reads light across the room. We hold it to a clean rectangle of stone on a minimal three-leg base, with nothing else asking for attention. The top is shaped on the 5-axis machine we program, then we finish it by hand in a honed matte, which is where the hours go.
We keep the top deliberately thin in profile so a heavy slab looks like it barely touches its supports. The legs we lacquer in a textured dark tone and set them so the marble seems to hover just above the floor.
By stone
- Carrara
- A white Italian marble with soft grey veining that keeps the long top calm and even.
- Nero Marquina
