Esphera
Three stones, hung like planets.
Esphera is a marble pendant lamp in three parts, two spheres polished to a shine and a third left raw, its surface stepped into a ring of rough-cut bands. We mean the pieces to hang together at different heights, so they read as a small constellation over a table or a stairwell, the light catching gold inside each form.
We shape each block on the 5-axis machine we program and finish it by hand, and because every sphere is cut from natural stone, the run of the veining is its own on each one. Take the three together or a single piece on its own. Hung as a trio or split across a room, the set plays the smooth spheres against the carved one, and the dark stone against the warm light held inside it.
By stone
- Portoro
- It is a deep, inky black marble shot through with golden veins, a strong and unmistakable stone. Against the dark surface the gold lines catch the light, and the polished spheres throw it back while the carved one holds it in shadow.
- Travertine
- It is a warm cream to beige stone, open-pored, with characteristic veining and small mineral inclusions. It reads softer and quieter than the Portoro, and sits easily alongside other natural colours and textures. It is available on request, as is any other material.

Does the light pass through the stone?
No. The spheres hold and reflect the light, catching the gold in the stone, rather than glowing through the marble.
