Handle
A candle, kept in stone, opened by a pull of leather.
Handle is a cylindrical stone jar with a walnut lid and a leather pull, a compartment at the top made to hold a scented candle so you choose the fragrance of a room. We shape the body from a solid block on the machine we program, then finish it by hand until it turns and closes cleanly under the lid. It heads a small series we build from the same idea: a taller version that works as a reed diffuser, a glass version where the stone core shows through blown glass, and a Nature version we join from several reclaimed stones into one, so each of those comes out different.
By stone
- Carrara
- A white Italian marble with soft grey veining, under a warm walnut lid.
- Moleanos
- A Portuguese limestone, soft and pale, in the standard jar.
- Black Travertine
- Warm browns and greys through to black, open-pored, on the standard jar.
- Glass (Calacatta Viola)
- In the Glass version, a Calacatta Viola core, deep aubergine and black veins drifting across a white ground, shows through a blown-glass body, made for a reed diffuser or flowers.
- Nature
- The Nature version joins several reclaimed stones, such as Black Travertine, Travertine, Green Guatemala and Calacatta Viola, into one one-off jar.
