Bali
No visible drain, just the stone.
Bali is a wall-hung marble washbasin with a hidden drainage system, so the sculpted stone shows with none of the usual plumbing on view. We wanted the stone to carry the whole piece, so we worked the waste into the form itself and tucked the technical side out of sight. What is left on the wall is one clean line of marble and nothing to distract from it.
We machine the basin from a single block, running our own programming to rough out the shape, then finish the surface by hand in a honed matte. The drainage runs inside the form, so once it is on the wall you read the stone and not the plumbing.
